Hey there! How's it going? Well I had a fabulous weekend because on Sunday I got to go to Disneyland! It was my best friend's birthday, so a few of us drove down for the day. It turns out that Disneyland is only about a half hour drive, I think I'll go once a week! It was warm and sunny on Sunday and a good time was had by all. Here are a few photos from the day: That's me in front of Sleeping Beauty's Castle, which try as I might I could not figure out how to sneak into! And here I am in a (non-moving) teacup! This is a little bit of a "Where's Apples?" situation. See if you can find me on my favorite ride, the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad: And here I am in front of the ride afterwards: This was me confronting a snake outside the Indiana Jones ride. Snakes. Why did it have to be snakes? Hahahaha! And finally here I am with Mr. Disney and Mickey! Love those two! Have a great week y'all, catch up with you soon!

Hey there Folks! Today's post is just a Happy Birthday to someone out there, you know who you are Big Lug! I hope you have a totally FAB day! I got you a few things for your birthday. First is a cake from Babycakes so you know it's gluten and dairy free! Next I got you a beautiful bouquet of flowers, which, by the way is not nearly as beautiful as you! Then I picked up this necklace for you, do you think you can find an appropriate event to wear it to in Portland? And finally, now that relations with Cuba are going to improve, I wanted to send you on a trip there! Won't it be amazing to see this amazing cathedral in person? So there you go, I hope you like your gifts! Happy Birthday and thanks for everything you do Big Lug, you're just the best Big Lug a mule could ever hope for!
Hey y'all! How's your 2015 panning out so far? Mine is going great! Not sure if you heard but there was a big old party happening here in LA yesterday and I was so thrilled to get the opportunity to go. That's right, it was the Golden Globes and lucky for me my fabulous new agent asked me to go as her plus one. While I was walking the red carpet something quite odd happened: I came to find out that I was wearing the exact same dress as none other than Catherine Zeta Jones! Well, lucky for me she had a sense of humor about the whole thing and we both laughed about it and then snapped this photo together. Thanks for the memory Catherine, you were a DOLL!
Happy New Year Everyone! I can't believe it's that time of year again. 2014 was a great year for me, I did so much and had a lot of fun jobs and met some great people and had a blast sharing it with you all on this blog. Thank you to everyone who checked me out here or followed me on my twitter account, I couldn't have done it without all your support! Here are some of the highlights from 2014 and I look forward to everything that 2015 throws at me!
Hi there! It's Apples, do you remember me? I'm a little sheepish, I can't believe I let the blog drop off since I moved to LA! I'm not sure what to say except I'm sorry my loyal blog readers. I left you hanging in Vegas, you probably thought I got sucked into working at a casino to pay off my debts at the slot machines! Nothing that exciting happened, we made it to Los Angeles just fine. We found a great apartment in the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles. It's in the Eastern part of the city but easy to get everywhere! The transition has been pretty smooth and I'm happy to say that I love it here. The land of eternal summer suits me just fine and I've already been to the beach and swimming and hiking all over the place. I'm taking a couple weeks off and going up to Portland for Christmas, but I'll get right back into action in the new year. For now here's a few photos from around town (click on the link to see where I took the photo). Enjoy & see y'all in 2015! Hey Everyone! Well the time has come, this is the very last post about my epic trip across the country. As you have seen it was a once in a lifetime journey & I could not have had a better time! It was only appropriate that Vegas was our last stop since Vegas has a little of everything. I had been to Vegas once years ago but boy has it changed. There were lights and fountains everywhere and each hotel lobby we went into was more extravagant than the last! We stayed at the Treasure Island Hotel (which was right on The Strip) for two nights and didn't do much except lay by the pool and walk up and down the strip a bit. After such a long and amazing trip those couple of days relaxing were much needed. Oh yeah, and we gambled a bit but I'm happy to say we came out ahead. Anyway, here's my pics, have a great weekend everyone! Hey Everyone! Happy Hallow's Eve Eve! Normally around this time of year I'd be fully focused on Halloween, it is one of my favorite holidays after all (along with Christmas, Easter, Fourth of July, Thanksgiving, etc - you get the picture!), but this year has been a little different. As you know, I made the big move from New York to LA. I arrived here in Lalaland a couple weeks ago and it has been a whirlwind of activity setting up the new apartment and reaching out to friends and contacts I have set up here. Also, it still feels like summer here so I'm not quite feeling the Halloween spirit this year! I guess I'll have to get used to that, it is the land of eternal summer after all! Anyway, I'm sure I'll throw a costume together and go party tomorrow night and I'll be sure to post some pics if I do! Meanwhile, here's the second to last post of my cross country adventure. Today's pics are from The Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, and Zion Nation Park. Enjoy! Hey Guys! Today I'm going to be talking about the desert. I loved the lush woods of Colorado (seen in my last post here), it was extraordinarily beautiful there, but then we headed to Arizona and I couldn't believe how beautiful the desert was too. It was a little more stark and harsh, but beautiful none the less. I was especially in awe of the variety of colors of earth that we saw. We everything from red clay to purple and grey sand and everything in between. The first few photos are at El Morro National Monument in New Mexico, which is famous for having petroglyphs and signatures of passerby's scratched into the cliffs. Some of the signatures were left by Spanish conquistadors in the 1500's and the petroglyphs were way before that! The next photos are from The Petrified Forest in Arizona. Yes, that's right, those beautiful rocks you see were once trees. Pretty cool, huh? Oh yeah, and thank you so much to Char and Steve for showing us such a good time at El Morro and The Petrified Forest, you guys were so awesome! The next set of photos is in Monument Valley, which you'll probably recognize from various films throughout the years. And last but not least is Glen Canyon and Lake Powell in Northern Arizona on the Utah border. I swam in the lake and it was such a beautiful oasis in the middle of the desert. What an experience! And in my next post I'll share some photos from three more amazing national parks: Bryce Canyon, Zion and the biggest of them all - The Grand Canyon! Happy Monday everyone! Hey there Everyone! Have you ever been to Colorado? If the answer is "no" then I suggest you buy yourself a plane ticket and hightail it over there as soon as possible because it is one stunning state! I got the chance to see a lot of it on this fab road trip across the country, and it was honestly some of the most spectacular scenery I had ever seen. I was just taking picture after picture out the window, I couldn't help myself! Here is a small selection of all that I saw in Colorado. The first few pictures are at the home and surrounding property of one of my travelling companion's Aunt Cindy and Uncle Bill's beautiful house in the woods outside of Golden, Colorado. They were kind enough to put us up for a few days and we had just an amazing time! And Bill actually carved the sculptures out of marble that I'm posing with, can you believe it? So cool! The next set of photos are our drive through the great Colorado Rockies, and the final ones are of Mesa Verde National Park, where Native Americans lived in cliff dwellings in the 1200's. Yes, you read that right - the 1200's! And I thought stuff was old in NYC! Anyway, enjoy & I'll post more pics again soon! Howdy everyone! I'm not in Texas anymore but can't stop saying Howdy! Actually I should say hola now because this post is all about New Mexico. I loved New Mexico, it's so beautiful and I love all the influences of Mexican and Native American culture. I couldn't stop myself from taking tons of pictures, but here's just a few to give you a little taste of the beauty of New Mexico: |
