Hey All! First of all, Happy Fourth of July! It's rainy here in NYC so it's not feeling quite as festive as usual but I'm planning on going and watching some fireworks later on. I hope the weather is nicer in other parts of the country and everyone is enjoying their day off!
Well, the World Cup has been going on for a few weeks now and I have definitely been watching and I know I'm not alone! The World Cup is the most watched sporting event in the world by a long shot. This past Superbowl was the most watched ever, with 111.5 million viewers, but in 2006 there were an estimated 715 million people who watched the final match of the World Cup. Wowzer!
So in answer to my question in the title of this blog post, yes you should care about the World Cup. It has everything: athleticism, strategy, drama and an international cast of characters who are all trying to just get that ball in the net. With all the problems we have in the world it's fun to think about everybody coming to watch these guys duke it out for the honor of calling themselves world champions. And if you're not really into sports then here are 12 reasons why you should care:

Ok, ok, maybe I'm a little superficial but I'm not ashamed to admit that a good part of the reason why I watch soccer is to salivate over all the hot guys. Who can blame me, right? It's like a beauty pageant for men! Have a great weekend everyone!
