Hey Guys! Oh my goodness, this past week has been NUTS here in NYC with all the events leading up to the big day on Sunday. As you might know, I'm a huge football fan, I discussed one reason for this in a previous blog post, go to this link if you're curious (http://www.applesthemule.com/1/post/2013/11/ask-apples2.html), but what you probably don't know is that I used to play when I was a kid! I was the kicker on a pee wee football team, the Portland Thunderstorms. I was the only girl on the team and the only mule too, but it should make sense because we mules are known for our kicking ability! It was super fun and guess what - I have a photo to share to prove that I'm not making this up: Since the football isn't in this picture you'll just have to trust me when I tell you that I kicked that sucker far! I set all kinds of local records and maybe if I would have kept it up I'd be the first female mule in the NFL. Who knows, anything is possible! Have a great weekend everyone, enjoy the big game and GO SEAHAWKS!!!

Hey Y'all! I know this is a little late, but I don't think I ever shared with you guys how I spent my Christmas vacation. After my performances of "Gypsy" in Wisconsin ended I headed down to the Big Easy for a week. I love New Orleans so much - the food, the people, everything! I had a great time catching up with friends and seeing some fabulous live music acts, and I also slipped in a little bit of "work" while I was there. I did a photo shoot in the bayou with the fabulous New Orleans photographer Antoine Boudreaux, and here is a selection of images from that shoot: Pretty gorgeous scenery, huh? I had a total blast doing the shoot. Oh yeah, but there's one more thing, which I'm glad I only saw when we were done for the day and heading home. This little mule coulda been alligator bait - yikes!
Hey Everyone! Did you watch the Grammy's last night? If so you probably already know which hat I'm referring to in the title. If not, here it is: Judging by all the buzz on the internet that hat pretty much stole the show last night from Beyonce and Taylor Swift and even the musical reunion of Sir Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr! It also upstaged the person wearing the hat, Pharrell Williams. A lot of people have been speculating that Pharrell was hiding something under his hat. Well guess what my loyal blog readers, today is your lucky day because I actually know what he was hiding under his hat and I'm going to share it with you right now via the following x-ray photo: HAHAHAHAHA! That's right, it's your old friend Apples! My ticket to the Grammy's must have gotten lost in the mail so I had to sneak in. Good thing I'm super limber, I had to pull a serious contortionist move to make this happen! Thanks for stopping by the blog, have a great week everyone!
That's right everyone, it's the return of Throwback Thursday and I have a good one for you: This was back in the early '90's, as you might have guessed from my Hammer pants. I was a huge fan of "In Living Color" and wanted more than anything to be a Fly Girl. I used to tape record the routines and learn them in my bedroom in the hopes of becoming part of the troupe one day! Unfortunately the show only lasted 5 seasons so it wasn't meant to be, but I recently heard rumors that "In Living Color" might get a reboot. Hey Keenan, if that's true then call me - hahahaha! Have a great day everyone!
Hey everybody, Happy Tuesday! So as you can see, I was an extra in Wolf of Wall Street. I had a "blink and you'll miss it" role as an underwear-wearing band member at one of the office orgies. What can I say - it can't all be Shakespeare. Now let me respond to what I'm sure you're wondering:
-Was this experience somewhat degrading? Yes. -Did I have a blast anyway? You betcha! -What size underwear do I wear? None of your business nosy pants. -Was there any debauchery going on behind the scenes? I'll never tell! -Is Leo as hot in real life as he looks on screen? Hotter. -And finally, just how short is Martin Scorcese? Well, he walked past me and we were eye to eye. You do the math - hahaha! Have a great week everyone! Hi Everyone, did you watch the Golden Globes on Sunday? You know I did and thought it was FAB! Tina and Amy were hilarious, as I knew they would be, and they looked gorgeous in all their different outfits. I loved the part when Amy dressed up as Tina's adult son too, I almost peed my pants I was laughing so hard! Today I have a really fun post to share. A stylist friend of mine, Raquel Moe, wanted to do a photo shoot recreating some of the most unique looks from the Globes and she asked me if I'd be her model! She brilliantly threw together all the outfits in a matter of hours and we did the photo shoot yesterday afternoon. Check out the looks below: Here I am in Jennifer Lawrence's Dior Gown.... And Sofia Vergara's Zac Posen and gorgeous turquoise necklace. This is our version of Amy Adams' racy Valentino... And Zooey Deschanel's demure Oscar de la Renta princess gown. What a treat to get to dress like one of my all time favs, Ms. Julia Roberts, looking spectacular in Dolce & Gabbana! And finally, while most people didn't care for Paula Patton's Stephane Rolland Couture gown, I say at least she made an impression and got people talking! As the old saying goes, "There is no such thing as bad publicity!" Here's our version, pretty good, right? Boy, did I have a blast doing this shoot and I hope you enjoyed the photos. Oh yeah, and one more thing, I have a special shout out to one of the most important people in my life: Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday Dear Big Lug.......Happy Birthday TO YOU!!!! I hope you're having a wonderful day today and I love you very much! Take care everyone, see y'all soon!
Who here loves The Rockettes? I assume everyone raised their hand. What's not to love? They're gorgeous, they're always smiling and they can kick so high it'll make your head spin! I was never a Rockette myself, I don't quite meet the height requirement, but I'm friends with one of the choreographers of the Christmas Spectacular, and a few years ago he asked me if I'd take part in a number in the show! I think he asked me because he knew that I might be short but I can kick just as high as the rest of them. Well, it took me all of .5 nanoseconds to say yes and here I was with Santa and the ladies: What a fun experience that was! And now I promise that I won't do anymore Christmas themed posts. I'm sure when you read the title of this post you must have thought I'd lost my nut, (it is almost mid-January after all) and I probably have - hahahaha! I just love Christmas so much I wanted to stretch it a little longer. But I guess now it's time to take down the tree and move on. Happy Throwback Thursday everyone & catch y'all next week!
Hey there, happy 2014! It's that time again, when people make a list of goals that they'd like to accomplish. I love making lists so I thought I'd join in on the fun! 1. Finally make it over to visit George Clooney in Lake Como. Everyone knows that Clooney spends his summers at his villa in Lake Como, Italy (seen left), and I have always wanted to make time to go visit him! I resolve that this summer I will make it happen. Oh yeah, I guess I gotta snag an invite first. Or do I? - hahaha! 2. Resolve my differences with Barbara Walters. I don't want to get into the whole thing right now, but Ms. Walters and I had a sort of a tiff a few years back and needless to say I haven't been invited on The View since. Babs knows what she did, but I'm willing to be the bigger creature here and let bygons be bygons. Oh yeah, but as for my feud with Martha Stewart - (explained here: http://www.applesthemule.com/1/category/martha%20stewart/1.html) consider it still on! 3. Star in a Terrence Malick movie. This may sound like an unreachable goal but it's not actually as hard as you might think. The man went from making one movie every 7.5 years to cranking them out one after another. And I saw "Tree of Life," I know what it takes. If you're reading this Terry, consider this my audition: Have a wonderful week everyone!
