Hey Everyone! Last week I mentioned in my "Ask Apples" post that I think Martha Stewart steals ideas from me. I was sorta kidding of course, but it's actually not out of the realm of possibility. You see, I actually met Ms. Stewart a few years back when I was invited to go to her house in Connecticut with a mutual friend of ours. She showed me around her property and introduced me to her dogs and even taught me how to make the most perfect mini chocolate souffles. We talked a lot about our mutual interests in cooking and crafting and it was only after that time that I would watch her tv show and see recipes similar to those I had just cooked or crafting projects like what I had just made at home. Do I think Martha Stewart put spy cameras in my apartment? Probably not. It's more likely just a case of great minds thinking alike. But hey, she's definitely a driven person who will do anything to succeed so I wouldn't put it past her. Just kidding Martha, don't come after me - hahahaha! Anyway, here's a photo from that fabulous day, one that I will definitely cherish forever. Have a great weekend everyone!

That's right, it's time for another addition of: Dear Apples, The holidays are coming up so I was wondering if you have any holiday cooking or crafting tips you'd like to share. Sincerely, Mary Stalwart Dear "Mary Stalwart," Are you sure that's your real name? It sounds like an alias to me. I think we both know who you are...Martha Stewart!!! Excuse me for being paranoid but I've been convinced for years that Martha Stewart has a camera somewhere and is stealing my recipes and crafting ideas. I swear to you, I'll come up with something on my own and then it'll show up in her magazine the next month! What the heck?! But since you asked "Ms. Stalwart," I'll give you a few tips. 1. Roll your turkey in kitty litter before roasting it, it'll give it an extra crunch! 2. Decorate your holiday table with barbed wire. It'll catch the candle light in the most beautiful way - and prevent people from overeating because passing dishes is a challenge! 3. To save space in your refrigerator just dump all your leftovers out on the front lawn. Raccoons like to celebrate Thanksgiving too! So there you go "Mary Stalwart" - three tips for the holidays. And if you're not actually Martha Stewart in disguise, well, please disregard these tips. Hahaha! Hey Apples, You seem pretty busy during the weekdays. How do you like to spend your weekends? -Sarah Quince Hi Sarah! Yes, I tend to be pretty busy Monday-Friday but there are so many cool things to do in NYC it's often hard for me to relax on the weekends! I love visiting the Met or the Natural History Museum, wandering around Prospect Park for hours or meeting up with friends and getting brunch at one of our favorite spots. Now that it's getting colder I'm starting to stay in a little more and I gotta admit that I LOVE watching football! There's something about hefty guys crammed into spandex smashing into each other that I just can't get enough of......or maybe it's the butt shots - hahahaha! To demonstrate what I'm talking about, may I present to you "NFL Butts!" You're welcome! |
