Hey Everyone! Today is my favorite day of the year - it's my birthday! It's a beautiful day here in NYC and I couldn't have had a better day. I met some friends in Central Park and we had a picnic, I walked around and did a little bit of shopping, (nothing wrong with treating yourself on your birthday!) and I'm going to go salsa dancing later tonight. Did you know that I love to salsa dance? Because I do! This mule can tear it up on the dance floor - hahaha! So everyone knows that one of the best things about birthdays are birthday presents and in case anyone out there wanted to get me something here are a few ideas: Well, in case you couldn't guess, this list is kind of a joke. I say "kind of" because I certainly wouldn't return any of these things if someone happened to give them to me! But in all seriousness, I am one content little Mule. I have wonderful friends and family and a full, exciting life. Who could ask for more? Have a great Wednesday everyone & I'll catch up with you soon!

Hey Guys! I hope everyone had a nice long weekend. It was sunny and warm here in NYC yesterday, and for the first time after this long winter and cold spring I felt like summer just might be on its way. That made me happy because I am a summer-lovin' gal for sure! Here are a few of my favorite summer activities: Mmmmm, ice cream, I love eating ice cream! I don't know how to decide which one I want though, guess I'll have to eat them all! Amusement parks! I LOVE amusement parks, especially roller coasters. I've been on the Cyclone down in Coney Island about 87 times (roughly) and I can't wait to go again this summer! I don't recommend doing these first two summer activities in order though, you should probably wait until after the Cyclone to consume 6 ice cream cones. And speaking of consuming a lot of food, you should stay away from Coney Island on July 4th if you're squemish, that's the day they hold the hot dog eating contest. The guy that won last year ate 69 hot dogs in 10 minutes - gross! Camping! That's me on the left (duh!) poking my head out of the tent during a camping adventure last year. I may be a city girl now but I love getting out into nature and getting back in touch with my earthy side, which is what I was doing in the photo on the right. That's a pretty advanced yoga move I'm doing though, so don't try this at home kids! Fresh fruit salads and smoothies - I practically exist on these when the weather's hot and I don't feel like eating anything else. And nothing wrong with spiking your smoothie with a little rum or tequila at night, (or during the day - hahaha!) it's still got the nutrients from the fresh fruit and will help you get the party started! Outdoor movies! I love movies, I love the outdoors, combining the two is a no-brainer! My local outdoor movie location is in Brooklyn Bridge Park and of all the outdoor movies in the country I think we might have the most spectacular view, wouldn't you agree? And finally, my very favorite thing about summer is that you can go to the beach! I love the beach! All winter long I fantasize about burying myself in the sand, frolicking in the water, having Aziz Ansari rub suntan lotion all over my body........................................ Wait what? What happened? So sorry, I must have trailed of there for a minute. Anyway, to summarize - beach: good, Aziz Ansari: good, Aziz Ansari with me at the beach: Best Thing Ever! Happy beginning of summer everyone & I'll catch y'all later! Just one more photo, I couldn't mention "My Man" without showing a photo of him. There are still no photos of Aziz shirtless, unfortunately, but he's looking pretty summery here.
Hey Everyone! For all you Irish/Irish-American folks out there I wanna wish you a Happy St. Patrick's Day! I don't mean any disrespect here, but I'm not quite sure what this holiday is all about. I'm assuming that there was a saint named Patrick and he did some good stuff somewhere in Ireland? Am I close? All I know is that here in NYC it's just an excuse for everyone, Irish or not, to wear green, get really drunk, and cause a ruckus out on the streets. Nothing wrong with that, I love a good party! And even though I'm not Irish I always make sure to wear green, not just so I don't get pinched but because I love the color green! Some of my favorite things in the world are green, check it out: I have a huge crush on Kermit The Frog. He's adorable, he's charming and he's a lovely shade of green - what's not to love? Money is green and I loooooooooove me some money! Trees are just the best. I'm a New Yorker now but a Pacific Northwesterner at heart and there's nothing better than being out there among those green trees. Mmmmmmm......kiwis......so green and tasty and delicious! And finally, no list of favorites would be complete without my number one guy, Aziz Ansari. Maybe you don't normally think Aziz when talking about St. Patrick's Day or things that are green, but now you will! Hahahaha! Have a great week everyone!
Hey everyone, I hope you're having a wonderful day, whether you have a valentine or not. My valentine, Mr. Aziz Ansari, is just in my dreams and on this card as of now, but hey, maybe someday I can make this dream a reality. I mean, we look so fab together, don't you agree? Have a great weekend everyone, catch up with you soon!
Hey Everyone! Wow, I can't believe it's already New Year's Eve. These past couple of days have been bittersweet because 2013 was so good to me, but I'm super excited to see what 2014 has in store! Being a performer isn't the easiest thing in the world and I feel so lucky that I was able to do what I love and work with fun, fabulous people along the way. And doing this blog has brought me so much joy on top of all of that! Here are a few highlights from this past year: That last one didn't happen, it was just in my dreams of course, but hey, maybe in 2014 I'll make it a reality! Aziz, if you're reading this: call me! Hahahahaha! Thank you so much to all of you who have stopped by to take a look at a day in the life of Apples The Mule. I appreciate the support so very much and I promise ya I'll keep it coming in 2014! Happy New Year!!!
Dear People Magazine, Hi, this is Apples, long time reader/first time letter writer. This is in regards to your selection of Adam Levine as the Sexiest Man Alive 2013. Nothing against Mr. Levine, he has an ok face and a semi-hot bod, but you have overlooked someone who deserved the title way more. I'm talking about Mr. Aziz Ansari, the TRUE sexiest man alive. I shouldn't have to plead my case to you but I will anyway because it's a good excuse for me to post some photos of my Number One Guy: He knows how to dress. Look at that suit, isn't he smoldering? He is funny as heck...... But is also a talented dramatic actor. He's an animal lover.... and a super intelligent guy.... who isn't afraid to show his sensitive side. I mean really People look at them side by side, it's just no contest: Well, I think I've made my case. And if you refuse to change your mind then please consider this my official nomination for Sexiest Man 2014. The voice of the people will be heard!
Your's Truly, Apples Hey Everyone! Isn't fall just the best? Here in New York it finally feels like fall and to celebrate I decided to combine a couple of my favorite things in the world: beautiful fall foliage and some of my favorite classic hunks from back in the day. Confused? Here's what I'm talking about: See? Hunky Brad Pitt in front of some breathtaking yellow and orange leaves. Best thing ever? I think so! If Brad Pitt isn't your cup of tea, check out this guy: Or these guys: But of course, if I'm making a list of hunks, I gotta include my current crush: Hubba hubba, am I right? Boy, that scenery sure is gorgeous - and the fall foliage ain't bad either! Hahahaha! Enjoy your week everyone!
Hey there! So as you probably figured out I didn't see my celebrity crush Aziz Ansari while I was in LA since that would have been the first thing I would have blogged about when I got back. I had my hopes up because our host Amanda said she'd heard that Aziz lives in the same neighborhood as she does, Los Feliz. Well, I wandered around that neighborhood until my hooves were sore and didn't see him anywhere! I guess I'll have to continue to wait for that wonderful day when I'll finally get to meet the man of my dreams. But until then I'm gonna "treat myself" and imagine what it would be like if we spent a day together treating ourselves. If you're not familiar with the catch phrase "Treat Yo Self" from Aziz's show "Parks and Recreation," then get out of that cave you're living in and google it quick! Hahahaha! Our Treat Yo Self day would start out with massages at a spa...... How luxurious! Then we'd go shopping for some snazzy new duds.... In case you're wondering, yes, that is a Chanel dress and no, I'm never taking it off! Finally we'd finish off with a romantic dinner at a five star restaurant..... Don't we look so happy? Let me just say that those weren't our first glasses of wine that night - hahahahaha! Oh my gosh, what a wonderful day. Why can't every day be a Treat Yo Self day? Well, I hope you have a wonderful Friday and weekend, and hey, why not go out and Treat Yo Self - I know I will!
Hey Guys! So this week all I can think about is the fact that I'm going on on vacation on Friday! Woo hoo! Junes and Brian and I are going to Los Angeles, where they'll be visiting some friends and I have some business meetings set up, and then we'll be heading up to the Oregon coast to visit family. I can't wait, it has been too long since this mule has had a vacation! Since all I can do is think about my trip, here's a little slide show of things I'm looking forward to seeing in LA and Oregon. Hello everyone! It's finally getting hot here in NYC and so I want to take this opportunity to discuss a very important topic: whether or not men should be allowed to walk down the street shirtless. I have some very strong feelings on this subject, and since it's my blog I'm gonna tell them to you! Hahahahaha! It is my personal belief that every man who would like to go shirtless on the street should be required to get a license to do so. He would have to appear before a panel of judges (selected by me of course) who will evaluate him and determine whether or not society will benefit from seeing his naked torso. That way we'll avoid seeing this: But we'll still get to see this: And in case you're wondering, yes, I did try to find a photo of my crush, Aziz Ansari shirtless and wouldn't you know it I couldn't find any! This has definitely got to change..... Have a good week!
